(Aurell 1989:76-77) la critique a longtemps identifíé à Gui de Cavaillon un troubadour que les MSS appellent "Cabrit" (auteur de qq couplets échangés avec Ricau de Tarascon) ; pourtant un Cabrit a bel et bien existé au début du XIIIe s: ce personnage, probablement chevalier déclassé, faisait partie du patriciat urbain d'Arles et il est mentionné dans la liste des témoins d'un acte d'août 1203 par lequel Bertran Porcelet vend, dans sa maison du Vieux-bourg, la "villa" de St-Vincent de Canois au chapitre de St-Trophime; il devait mourir avant 1225, date d' un legs testamentaire par des membres extérieurs à sa famille pour que ses filles puissent réunir une dot; DBT 138 (Guida 2009) archival evidence for Guilhem Aldebert Cabrit, Arles, ca 1190-1220, in docs 1197-1198 and 1209, died before 1225, with small landholdings in Tarascon; consigliere comunale di Arles, nell'orbita di Porcelet; NOT Gui de Cavaillon; named Cabrit de Tarascon in tornada of PC 192,4 in fragment of MS To, a sirventes of Gui de Cavaillo; Aurell argues that Cabrit must have been a member of the urban noblesse of Arles and owner of a small parcel of land near Tarascon, documented in a notarial act of August 1203 at the house of Bertran Porcelet and probably dead by 1225.[7] A Guillelmus Aldebertus Cabritus (Guillem Aldebert Cabrit) was a consul of Arles in 1197 and man known only as Cabritus was a consul in 1209. Guillem Aldebert Cabrit also witnessed the testament of Rostanh Porcelet in 1186 and an 1198 donation to the Knights Templar in Arles by the Porcelet family. That these figures named Cabritus all acted in the same geographical theatre (Arles) and in connexion with the family (Porcelet) over a period of thirty years suggests that it was a single individual of some prominence at Arles.[7] That this figure held land at Tarascon strongly suggests that he may have been Ricau's interlocutor; DBT 138 (Guida 2009) archival evidence for Guilhem Aldebert Cabrit, Arles, ca 1190-1220, in docs 1197-1198 and 1209, died before 1225, with small landholdings in Tarascon; NOT Gui de Cavaillon;
