DOM Supl1 1er t. 13e s.; [GRLMA II.1.7: 441]; CC contemp de Alfonse II roi d'Aragon et de Raimon V comte de Toulouse?; (Jeanroy) dans acte d'Alfonse II (Tarascon) 1209/02/00, un sirv contre Simon de Montfort; BS p496 n1 il se confond peut-être avec le Guilelmus Ranoli temoin en 1209 dans un acte d'Alphonse II de Provence; notre troubadour, d'abord moine, aurait jété le froc; Favati 1961:327 one of his compositions is datable to 1216; BEdT 1999/07/27 generazione 4= 1190-1235; secondo Perugi, Trovatori a Valchiusa, 53, ca. 1176-1184 (sulla base di HLF ?); certamente però dell'inizio del XIII; un Guillemus Ranoli è testimone in un documento di Alfonso II (Tarascona 1209); Bec 2004:167-171 mi-XIII;
