Guiscarda {}

Person

trobairitz by inference (Barbieri); Rieger (1987) 1993:342 Barbieri mentions the name of Guiscarda in company of two acknowledged trobairitz, N'Alamanda and Na Lombarda; Barbieri does not designate her explicitly as a trobairitz, does not list any of her works, but clearly does consider her one of the 8 trobairitz listed in his chapter on "les rimatrici di Provenza" (p.138). Barbieri cites a text closely resembling a vida (cf. Dell'origine p135ff.) "Guiscarda fu di Borgogna, sorella di Guiscard de bel ioc . . ."; DBT 203 s.v. Gaucelm Faidit (1165-1220) dedicates his canso {167,67} to Guiscarda de Beaujeu, viscomtessa di Comborn;
