Cantus octavus. CC Biogr p344n3: E. Cicogna & E. Teza, Della Leandreida, poema anonimo inedito. Memorie dell'Istituto Veneto 1857:457-472. CC 1883:10 says: In the last canto, Arnaut de Mareuil, at the request of Dante (who calls him "questo mio fratelo") presents by name 43 [for Rieger, there are 46]Provencal poets by whom he is accompanied: 2 names are found nowhere else (Giraut de Calmonyer, Pere de Bonifaci), 3 others are known only by 1-2 poems in a very small number of mss: Guilerm de Biarz, Guillerm d'Anduz, Peyre de Pomarol. CC remarks also that this list must have been longer, by the poet's own remarks, and that it includes neither the earliest nor the most recent poets, e.g., G IX, G Riquier. Rieger (1987) 1993:338-339 mentions as possible author: Giovan Girolamo Nadal (Natali), and Leonardo Giustinian(i).
