Il trovatore è in realtà indicato nella tenzone come Pomariols al v. 1 e al v.55, come Peire al v. 19 e come Peire Pomariols al v. 37; BEdT 2.5 Dibatte con Guionet nella tenzone BEdT 238,003, certamente composta in Provenza come indica l'invio a Reforzat [de Trets] e a Azalais Porcelleta, indicati in qualità di giudici. Il trovatore è in realtà indicato nella tenzone come Pomariols al v. 1 e al v.55, come Peire al v. 19 e come Peire Pomariols al v. 37. Guida 2011, p202-209 e spec. p.205 sgg. propone di identificarlo con un "Peire de Pomariol" attestato negli anni 1221-1222.
