XIII; Die (Drôme) GRLMA II.1.7.50-51; Bogin 1976 there is no wife of a Guillem de Poitiers who can be construed to have held title to the county of Die (today chef-lieu d'arr., a small town NE of Orange, dep. Drome). There is, however, a Guillem of Poitiers, count of Valentinois, by legend a bastard offshoot of the great house of Poitiers who was married to a lady Beatriz of the Viennois whose son appears to have held the title Count of Dia (source: P. Anselme, 1728 II: 187 ); Guillem of Poitiers was a count, but his title was to Valentinois, and not to Die; GRLMA 2/1/7 (a)46 pour Jeanroy I p313, "Comtesse" pourrait etre , non pas un titre, mais un prénom porté par deux poétesses vivant à un siècle d'intervalle; [Jack Lindsay 1976:188]The tales say she married Guilhem of Poitou but loved Raimbaut. This Guilhem would be the count of 1158-1189 or his grandson who died about 1227. But each man was count of Valentinois, not of Die. The first married a Beatrice, daughter of Guigue IV Dauphin of Viennois, but Guigue could not have handed on to his daughter a title he never bore and which was unused from 1168 to 1307.
